Safe Sanctuary Policy

Safe Sanctuary Policy

Safe Sanctuary is a set of policies and procedures we implement in order to keep our kids in a safe and nurturing environment. Safe Sanctuary training is required for all adults working with children under the age of 18.

Throughout the gospels, Jesus provides teachings on providing a peaceable kingdom for all of God’s people, including our most precious gifts, our children and youth (Matthew 5:9, Luke 18:15-17). The peaceable kingdom begins with sanctuary. Douglasville FUMC has developed policies and procedures intended to protect our preschoolers, children, youth, workers, employees, volunteers and the entire church body. Read the Bible in a Year – Starting Now

Have you read the Bible? If you are a Christian, you know that God’s Word is life. If you are a seeker, or someone who is interested in what Christians are so excited about, the Bible is the book that holds the answers. Either way, God would not have given us his Word without the implication that all of it is relevant to us.

As a Church, we began a journey this past Easter to read the entire Bible through in a year. Luncheons are scheduled throughout the year for us to come together and reflect on passages we have read. You are not too late, so pick up on the schedule now, and be blessed by scriptures you may have never seen before. God always surprises us and blesses us when we delve into the truths He has spoken. Click Here for a schedule of daily readings that will keep you on track for a total reading of the Bible in a year’s time. If you do not have a Bible, or would like the convenience of reading online, Bible.com has many resources and several versions of the bible to choose from.
