Douglasville First United Methodist Preschool
Certified as “A School of Excellence for Young Children”
PRESCHOOL AND TWO SCHOOL
Registration Forms, Classes and Fees
The objectives of our preschool program for 2, 3, and 4 year olds are to help each child grow in all areas of his or her development, to encourage each child to build positive attitudes about himself, and to provide happy, satisfying experiences in working and playing as an individual and with a group. Christian principles will be taught and shared. In addition to a weekly Bible story and daily prayer, the children will attend Chapel services in the Church Sanctuary.
The program at all age levels is hands-on, developmentally and age appropriate, with attention to socialization with other children. The school day includes active and quiet times, free play inside and out, and individual and group activities. Unit studies are an important part of our program, as well as creative arts and music. Colors, shapes and number concepts are introduced during the year. The alphabet, reading and math skills and kindergarten readiness are part of the curriculum for 4 year olds.
MOTHER’S DAY OUT
Out Mother’s Day Out program for 15-24 month olds meets on Fridays and is developmentally appropriate, based on the physical, motor, play and spiritual needs of this age group. A morning will consist of play, socialization, hands-on activities, music and Bible stories. The children will spend time in exploration, movement, and use of language as they interact with other children and with the adults who care for them.
